Control, Surveillance and Profits: A Hard Bargain for Apple in China

GUIYANG, China — On the edges of this city in a poor, hilly region in southwestern China, men in hard caps as of late put the last little details on a white structure a quarter-mile long with not many windows and a tall encompassing divider.
